MS SharePoint Administrator

Our client is currently implementing a project (the KM Principal project) to replace the existing KM systems with the SharePoint 2016 platform. This will introduce a personalized dashboard, improved search and knowledge submission process to the Firm.

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned SharePoint professional with both the technical and customer-facing aptitudes required to support the completion of this project and the ongoing maintenance of the platform.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Work with vendors and the Knowledge Systems team to implement a SharePoint environment that will support the technical specifications.

Develop and execute appropriate change control to ensure that all updates are distributed correctly.

Develop and manage a high availability scheme working with internal teams to correctly configure f5 load balancing and failover.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for SharePoint infrastructure
  • Security/permissions configuration
  • Backups / restoration
  • Disseminate general SharePoint info
  • Manage file size limits or quotas
  • Deploy new solutions, web parts, and applications, and templates to SharePoint
  • Troubleshoot SharePoint bugs
  • Coordinate with the development team for code releases during post-implementation, operational updates
  • Level 1 SharePoint Support
  • Respond to application questions, bugs, and other problems requiring issue resolution. Provide typical SharePoint administration roles such as:
  • Provisioning and supporting sites for end users.
  • Assigning security permissions to users and groups.
  • Respond to application questions, bugs, and other problems requiring issue resolution.
  • Enforce governance standards (e.g. policies, procedures, internal brand guidelines, copyright etc.)
  • Provide typical SharePoint administration roles such as:
  • Provisioning and supporting sites for end users.
  • Assigning security permissions to users and groups.

In addition, responsibilities related to maintaining firm and client information are to be adhered to by all employees. This includes complying with the firm’s information security policies, protecting firm assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference, and reporting security events or potential events or other security risks to management.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Demonstrable project management experience
  • 70-339: Managing Microsoft SharePoint Server 2016
  • Extensive experience with SharePoint Server 2016 Central Administration
  • Knowledgeable in MinRole Server Roles in SharePoint 2016
  • Extensive experience with IIS management
  • Familiar with Windows PowerShell for SharePoint Server 2016
  • Understanding of DNS, SSL, Active Directory
  • Understanding the contrast between SharePoint online and SharePoint on the premise
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle
  • Understanding of operational best practices
  • Understanding of principals of information governance
  • Knowledge of the application of classification, taxonomy management, and information architecture
